The best thing the Millennium UN Plaza hotel has going for it is the location. Situated First and Second Avenue, and as the name and address implies, it’s just across the United Nations building, 3 blocks from Grand Central station and a short walk from Times Square.
Now this is not your run-of-the-mill downtown NYC hotel, fast moving, hip or trendy. Things work at a staid pace, even glacial you might say. The decor and the atmosphere is distinctly European in style, and you’re likely to find a lot of middle aged and well heeled ‘English’ gentlemen waddling about the premises, rather than tour groups from the Heartland or visitors from the West coast.

The rooms, starting from the 28th floor and upwards, offer a panoramic view of the Manhattan skyline or the East river. Amneties offered include satellite television, pay-per-view, internet access, a mini bar, safe, iron & ironing board, hairdryer and complimentary newspaper. Compared to normal NYC standards, the rooms here are quite spacious.
The hotel is more well known among upscale New Yorkers as a meeting place for a quiet business discussion at the hotel’s dining facility - The Ambassador Grill. In addition to the restaurant, there’s also indoor and outdoor pools, a tennis court, health club and spa, business center, meeting facilities and free parking.
